1. What is the main idea behind the story? Make this very brief. I don't need/want you to reveal the plot.
2. What is the character challenging in terms of how her society/culture/community views women/girls?
3. How will the use of non-linear structure (e.g. flashbacks) help to demonstrate the message to the audience?
Sample Rationale -
My story will revolve around a girl who is in her final year of highschool. The society in which she lives has always believed that girls should not be allowed to participate in sport. In fact, any female who is found to be participating in sport can be punished. The reason for this is because women/girls are thought to be too weak and fragile to participate in these sorts of physical activities. By incorporating the use of flashbacks into the story, the audience will be able to see how the central character has challenged and ultimately altered these beliefs during her time at highschool.
